The Art of
Betsy Bennett
Betsy Bennett’s extraordinary paintings are early examples of an emerging artistic interest in works dealing with the ecological impact of Man upon Nature. Her paintings are always graceful, and optimistically beautiful on a viewer’s first impression. Simultaneously, her work tends to reflect her thematic interest in man’s attempts to deal with the natural world, whether by accepting its wild diversity, or, on a somewhat more somber theme, by attempting to impose man-made artifacts and notions of order upon it.
